On February 8th, the Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country, His Excellency Hisham Mohamed Nagi Abdel Hamid.

 

In the meeting, Guliyev shared extensive details about the advancements in urban planning within our country in recent years. He highlighted that Azerbaijan's role as the host for the upcoming 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, as well as the World Urban Forum in 2026 (WUF13), reflects the growing international stature our country enjoys due to its effective state policies.

 

Guliyev also emphasized the significance of the upcoming World Urban Forum (WUF12) in Cairo in 2024, confident that it will make a significant contribution to global discussions on urban issues and that our country will play an active role in it.

 

The Ambassador extended his congratulations on President Ilham Aliyev's resounding re-election victory, expressing his wishes for Azerbaijan's continued progress and prosperity under the President's leadership. He shared his delight about Azerbaijan hosting "COP29" and "WUF13," and offered to share Egypt's experiences from organizing "COP27" in 2022 and this year's "WUF12" with Azerbaijan.

 

The discussion also covered the potential for expanding collaborative efforts and mutual relations between our countries in various sectors.
