On June 5, 2025, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, signed an Order on the establishment of the Organizing Committee in order to ensure high-level preparatory work for the Thirteenth Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku in 2026.

 

It should be noted that, having duly appreciated the successful activities of Azerbaijan in the field of urban planning, it was decided to hold WUF13, another large-scale global event, in Baku in 2026. In accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated April 25, 2025, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on urban planning and architecture, was appointed the national coordinator of WUF13.

 

We are confident that the high-level organization of this prestigious event, which is an indicator of respect and trust in Azerbaijan, will make a significant contribution to the international community informing about the country's development strategies and achievements in the field of sustainable urban planning.
